Amy Shark - Cry Forever

Cry Forever is the second studio album by Australian indie pop singer songwriter Amy Shark, released in April 2021 via Wonderlick and Sony Music.

Cry Forever was written and recorded between the US, UK, New Zealand and Amy’s home studio on the Gold Coast. She worked with various producers on the album including Dann Hume, M-Phazes, Joel Little, Jamie Hartman, Dan Wilson and Sammy Witte.

On announcing the release of the album Shark said “…I am so proud of this album and it's time to hand these songs over to the fans. These are some of the most personal and confronting songs I've ever written and I can't wait to share them with everyone..."

The first single released from the album in June 2020 was “Everybody Rise”, which reached #31 on the Australian ARIA singles chart.

The second single “C’mon” features Travis Barker from Blink-182 on drums and songwriting credits. Amy was so happy to have him feature on this track, regarding him as one of the greatest rock drummers of all time.

Shark co-wrote a song on the album with Ed Sheeran “Love Songs Ain’t For Us”, which is about her not feeling comfortable writing “love songs” about herself, and finding Sheeran challenging her on that fear. Someone suggested that she should ask Keith Urban to sing on this song and she loved the idea and was very happy Urban agreed to do this, with his contributions taking the song to another level.

On the acoustic driven “All The Lies About Me”, Amy has said that “…this song is me at my most confused, broken and lonely. It’s not easy hearing things about yourself that simply aren’t true. Sometimes the noise gets too loud so I had to write this song as it’s the only way I can talk…”.

This album is an indies record store limited edition on silver marbled coloured vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Australia via Wonderlick and Sony.
