Hot Fuss is the debut studio album by American rock band The Killers, originally released in June 2004 via Island Records in the US and Lizard King Records in the UK.

The Killers are an American rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2001 by Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards, bass) and Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals). Mark Stoermer (bass, guitar, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. (drums, percussion) would complete the current line-up of the band in 2002. The band's name is derived from a logo on the bass drum of a fictitious band, portrayed in the music video for the New Order song "Crystal".

Their debut album Hot Fuss was recorded during 2003 and produced with Jeff Saltzman. Many of the tracks were originally recorded as demos, and the band decided to keep a number of these recordings on the debut album to retain the spontaneity of those original recordings.

The first single “Mr. Brightside” was released in September 2003 in advance of the album and became an instant success breaking into the Top 10 Singles charts in both the US and UK. The second single “Somebody Told Me” cemented their chart success in the UK reaching #3 on the singles charts and #17 in Australia.

The album peaked at #1 on both the UK and Australian Albums charts and reached #7 on the US Billboard 200 Albums chart. In the UK, the album has sold more than 2 million copies and was the 26th best-selling album of the decade in the UK. It is among the top 25 longest charting albums in the history of the UK Albums Chart, with 249 weeks, more than four-and-a-half years. It is also the longest-charting post-2000 release on the same chart.

This album broke the band commercially and Rolling Stone magazine ranked Hot Fuss at #43 on its "100 Best Albums of the Decade" list, and it is one of the five most recent recordings listed among the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die listing. Rolling Stone magazine also ranked Hot Fuss at #33 on its list of "The 100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time".

Check out the singles:  Mr. Brightside”; “Somebody Told Me”; “All These Things That I've Done”; andSmile Like You Mean It”.
