Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by British rock band The Beatles, originally released in September 1969 via Apple Records.

After the difficult recording sessions the band had undertaken in January 1969 at the Twikenham Film Studios to make a more stripped back album to be called Get Back / Let It Be, the band agreed to regroup with George Martin at the helm as producer to record what would be the final Beatles studio album.

The album was structured with two themes, Side A containing individual songs and Side B containing a thematic medley of songs comprised of shorter snippets of material. The styles of music range from rock to progressive rock to pure pop.

The album opens with a cracker of a rock song Lennon's Come Together then moves onto one of the best pop songs every written, George Harrison's Something. Paul McCartney's pop song Maxewll Silver Hammer is followed by a more rocky song Oh! Darling and then we move to Ringo's song Octopus's Garden and finally closing the album with Lennon's amazing progressive rock song I Want You (She's So Heavy). What a set of songs - a strong opening and closing, one of the most memorable sides of music in rock history.

Side B kicks off with another amazing Harrison composition, Here Comes The Sun, followed by John Lennon's Because and then the 16 minute Medley of songs that end with The End. There is a hidden track Her Majesty included at the very end of Side B.

The album cover is one of the most iconic in popular music history and was shot outside the Abbey Road Studios in London, and is the only Beatles album not to list the album name or band on the cover.

Abbey Road had mixed reviews upon release, however it has since been regarded by music critics as one of The Beatles best albums and one of the greatest albums of all time.

The album reached #1 on the album charts in many countries including the US, UK, Australia and Canada.

This is one of the greatest albums of all time and is an essential addition to any record collection.

This LP Record was reissued in 2012 as part of The Beatles In Stereo Vinyl series, with Remastered Audio on 180 Gram Heavyweight Vinyl, pressed in Europe.
