Cow Palace 1986 is a live album by Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young, released in April 2014 via Let Them Eat Vinyl Records.

Noted for his distorted electric guitar work, deeply personal lyrics and signature tenor voice, Neil Young started out covering Shadows' instrumentals, before moving to Los Angeles in 1966, where he formed Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills and Richie Furay. After releasing two studio albums, he joined Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1969. From his early solo albums and those with his backing band Crazy Horse, Young has recorded a steady stream of studio and live albums, frequently combining folk, rock, blues along with other musical styles. His gritty guitar work, especially with Crazy Horse, earned him the nickname "Godfather of Grunge" and led to his 1995 album Mirror Ball with Pearl Jam

A bootleg of the final date of Neil Young's Live in a Rusted Out Garage tour, Cow Palace 1986 is taken from the KLOS FM broadcast of his November 1986 Cow Palace concert. Despite the obstacles of the rather rowdy sell-out crowd and the FM-recorded quality, Cow Palace 1986 is an example of Neil Young and his backing band Crazy Horse in fine form. Whether it's The Rolling Stones pastiche "Mr. Soul", classics like "Hey Hey, My My", showcasing harmonica skills on signature hits "Heart of Gold" and "After the Goldrush",or venturing into prog territory on the 12-minute staple "Like a Hurricane", Cow Palace 1986 is still a surprisingly listenable bootleg which combines familiar fan favorites with a couple of underrated classics worth re-investigating.

This Triple Album 3LP Box Set is pressed on red, white, and blue 140 gram vinyl, and was pressed in Europe.
