Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die! is the ninth studio album by British progressive rock band Jethro Tull, originally released in April 1976 via Chrysalis Records.

Formed in Luton, Bedfordshire, in December 1967, Jethro Tull initially played blues rock and soon developed its sound to incorporate elements of British folk music and hard rock to forge their signature sound. The band was led by vocalist/flautist/guitarist Ian Anderson, and featured a revolving door of lineups through the years. The group first achieved commercial success with 1969's folk-tinged blues album Stand Up, reaching No. 1 on the UK charts, followed by the RIAA Gold Certified Album Benefit in 1970. Their musical style shifted in the direction of progressive rock with the albums Aqualung (1971), Thick as a Brick (1972) and A Passion Play (1973), and shifted again to hard rock mixed with folk rock with Songs from the Wood (1977) and Heavy Horses (1978). Selling more than 60 million albums worldwide, with 11 gold and five platinum albums among them, Jethro Tull have been described by Rolling Stone as "one of the most successful and eccentric progressive rock bands".

Recorded in December 1975 at Radio Monte Carlo by the Maison Rouge Mobile Studio, Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die! is the last of Jethro Tull's concept albums. Originally concieved as a stage musical, the album tells the story of ageing rocker Ray Lomas, his retirement, and eventually his resurgence in popularity. According to Ian Anderson the idea for the album came from the turmoil from the rise of punk music and the concept is "to point out that this business [music, fashion] is cyclic, and that if you stick around long enough, you do come into fashion again".

Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die! reached No. 14 in the United States, No. 25 in Britain, No. 10 in Austria, No. 10 in Norway, and No. 27 in Sweden.
