The Hum is the second studio album by British psychedelic rock band Hookworms, released in November 2014 via Weird World Records.

Hookworms are a five-piece psychedelic and noise rock band from Leeds, Halifax, England. The band is comprised of members JN (drums), JW (guitars), MB (bass, keyboards), MJ (vocals, keyboards) and SS (guitars).

Their second album The Hum is self produced by MJ and recorded at MJ’s Suburban Home Studios in Leeds. This is a follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album Pearl Mystic (2013).

The album received favourable reviews on release, as well as appearing in Loud and Quiet, The Drift and Piccadilly Records's top 10 records of 2014 lists. At Metacritic the album review aggregator produced a rating of 80 out of 100 indicating “Universal Acclaim”.
